Front elevation of a two-door Alucent wardrobe: a slim anodised aluminium frame with two full-height clear acrylic doors, one standing open to show a hanging rail of clothes above a stack of four shelves
Drawn to scale from the real dimensions, not photographed — so a 1800 mm bank genuinely looks wider here than a 600 mm one. Why we draw the range.

Vitrine 2-Door Wardrobe

The one most people start with

This is the wardrobe the range is built around, and the one to buy if you are replacing a single fitted unit or furnishing a main bedroom. At 1000 or 1200 mm wide it holds a season of clothes for one person with room to spare, and at 2300 mm high it swallows the things that usually end up on top of a wardrobe. The frame is 38 mm aluminium section — slim enough that from three metres away you mostly see what is inside it, which is the entire point of paying for acrylic doors rather than chipboard ones.

Size — W × D × H
Frame finish — Natural Anodised
Door panel — Clear Acrylic

Cast, not extruded. Cast acrylic is the more expensive process and the reason these doors stay optically clear instead of yellowing under a few years of afternoon sun — it has better UV stability, machines to a cleaner polished edge, and does not carry the faint directional haze extruded sheet has. It is also roughly half the weight of glass at the same size, which is what lets the frame stay this slim.

About the Vitrine 2-Door

Will a clear acrylic door yellow over time?

Not meaningfully, because these are cast acrylic rather than extruded. Cast sheet is inherently UV-stable and holds its clarity for decades of indoor use — the yellowing people remember is from cheap extruded sheet and from polycarbonate, which is a different material that genuinely does yellow. What will mark an acrylic door is abrasive cleaning: use a soft cloth and soapy water, never a scouring pad or a solvent cleaner, and it stays clear. Every wardrobe ships with the care card and a microfibre cloth.

Is a 2000 mm wardrobe going to fit under my ceiling?

Almost certainly, but check the tilt-up clearance rather than the finished height. Assembly stands the frame up from flat, so you need roughly 60 mm more than the cabinet height to swing it upright — about 2060 mm for the 2000 mm variant and 2360 mm for the 2300 mm one. Singapore HDB and most condo bedrooms are 2.6 m or better, so both fit. If your ceiling is dropped for aircon trunking over the wardrobe wall, measure to the underside of the bulkhead, not to the ceiling.

Can I see everything through a clear door, or should I take frosted?

You can see everything, and that is a real commitment. Clear doors are wonderful in a wardrobe that is kept tidy and merciless in one that is not. Frosted is the version most people are happier with a year in: colour and shape read through the door so you can still find the navy jumper, but the detail softens. If you are undecided, order frosted — it costs the same, and it is the option nobody regrets.

How much does it hold compared with a fitted wardrobe?

The 1200 mm variant gives 1160 mm of hanging rail and four shelves at 1100 × 560 mm, which is roughly a full season of clothes for one person plus folded storage. A built-in of the same footprint holds marginally more, because it has no frame section and no door gap, but the difference is a few percent — and this one comes apart and moves house with you.
