Terms & conditions

These are the terms on which GX TECH PTE. LTD. (UEN 202503838W), trading as Alucent, sells to you. Nothing here removes any right you have under Singapore consumer law.

1. When a contract exists

Adding something to your bag does not create a contract, and neither does reaching the payment page. A contract exists when we send you an order confirmation with a reference beginning ALU-.

We may decline an order before that point — if an item is genuinely unavailable, if the delivery address is outside Singapore, or in the rare case that a price was displayed wrongly by an obvious margin. If we decline after you have paid, you are refunded in full within five working days and we will say why.

2. Prices

Prices are in Singapore dollars and are shown inclusive of any applicable tax. Alucent is not currently GST-registered, so no GST is charged and no GST line appears on your invoice.

Delivery is free on orders over S$1,200 and S$89 below it. Assembly, if you choose it, is S$120 per order rather than per item. Every charge is shown before you pay; nothing is added afterwards.

We may change prices at any time, but never for an order already confirmed. A price reduction after you buy does not entitle you to a refund of the difference, and a price rise does not entitle us to ask for more.

3. Payment

Payment is taken at checkout through Stripe, by card, PayNow, Apple Pay or Google Pay. We do not receive or store your card details at any point. Goods remain our property until payment has cleared in full — relevant only for PayNow, where the session completes before the transfer settles.

4. Delivery

We deliver Singapore, island-wide, into the room of your choice rather than to a lobby or kerbside. Delivery windows are confirmed with you in advance and are estimates, not guarantees — we will tell you as early as we can if something slips, and a delay does not by itself entitle you to cancel unless it is substantial.

You are responsible for telling us about access constraints before dispatch: a service-lift restriction, a height limit, a narrow or spiral stair, a loading-bay time window, or a permit requirement. If the crew cannot get the goods in because of an access issue we were not told about, a redelivery is charged at the standard delivery fee.

Risk passes to you on delivery. Please check the cartons on arrival and tell us the same day if anything is damaged — see returns and warranty.

5. Returns and cancellation

You may return an item within 30 days of delivery. Unopened, we collect free and refund in full including any delivery you paid. Assembled and undamaged, we collect and refund less the cost of collection. Faulty, damaged in transit or not what you ordered is replaced or refunded in full at our cost.

Made-to-measure items cannot be returned for a change of mind, because they are cut to your room and have no resale value. This is why nothing is fabricated until you have approved a drawing and a fixed price. Defects and workmanship remain covered.

6. Warranty

We warrant the frame, hinges, runners, sliding-track carriages and panels against manufacturing defects for 5 years from delivery in normal domestic use. It does not cover accidental damage, abrasive or solvent cleaning damage, loads above the stated ratings, or a cabinet that was not fixed with its supplied anti-tip bracket.

This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights under the Sale of Goods Act (including the Lemon Law provisions) and the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act, and does not restrict them.

7. Safety

Every wardrobe is supplied with an anti-tip bracket and it must be fitted. A tall cabinet with a loaded drawer open, or a child pulling on a door, has a real tipping moment. We fit it as part of the assembly service. If you assemble it yourself and choose not to fit the bracket, we cannot accept liability for a tipping incident, and the warranty does not cover the resulting damage.

8. Product information

Dimensions, weights and load ratings are accurate to the tolerances stated. Product images on this site are drawn elevations, generated from the published dimensions — they are representations, not photographs, and small visual differences from the delivered item are expected. Photography used elsewhere on the site is licensed stock shown for atmosphere and does not depict an Alucent product.

Anodised and powder-coated finishes vary slightly between production batches, as do acrylic tints. We hold stock finishes so a later order matches an earlier one, but we cannot guarantee an exact match across batches years apart.

9. Liability

We are liable for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms or our negligence. We are not liable for business losses, loss of profit, or indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

Where we are liable for goods, our liability is capped at the price you paid for them, except where the law provides otherwise.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
