Front elevation of a waist-height Alucent armoire: two frosted acrylic doors above three drawers, with a solid worktop carrying a lamp and a folded stack of clothes
Drawn to scale from the real dimensions, not photographed — so a 1800 mm bank genuinely looks wider here than a 600 mm one. Why we draw the range.

Loft Low Armoire

Waist height, drawers below, a surface on top

Not every bedroom needs more hanging. A great many need folded storage, a surface at the right height, and something that does not block the window — which is exactly the gap a low armoire fills and the reason the form has existed for three hundred years. This is that piece in aluminium and acrylic: three soft-close drawers on full-extension runners, a short hanging section behind the doors for jackets and shirts, and a 20 mm compact laminate top rated to 60 kg so a lamp, a tray and a stack of books are not a problem.

Size — W × D × H
Frame finish — Natural Anodised
Door panel — Clear Acrylic

Cast, not extruded. Cast acrylic is the more expensive process and the reason these doors stay optically clear instead of yellowing under a few years of afternoon sun — it has better UV stability, machines to a cleaner polished edge, and does not carry the faint directional haze extruded sheet has. It is also roughly half the weight of glass at the same size, which is what lets the frame stay this slim.

About the Loft Armoire

What is the difference between an armoire and a wardrobe?

In current use they overlap, but the useful distinction is height and intent. A wardrobe is full height and built around hanging; an armoire is a freestanding cabinet, historically shorter, that mixes hanging with drawers and shelves and is meant to read as a piece of furniture rather than as built-in storage. The Loft is an armoire in that sense: 1200 mm high, drawers below, a usable top, and it goes where a full-height cabinet would block a window or crowd a room.

Can I put a TV or a mirror on top?

A television, yes — the top is rated to 60 kg and the cabinet is stable once the anti-tip bracket is fitted, which it must be. A leaning mirror is fine against the wall behind it. Do not stand a tall mirror on the top unsecured in a room a child uses; the bracket protects against the cabinet tipping, not against something toppling off it.
