Quick answer: what wardrobe fits in a small bedroom?
Measure the clear floor in front of the wardrobe wall before you measure the wall itself — that number decides the door type, and it is the one people forget. A hinged door needs roughly 600 mm of clear floor to open fully; if the bed leaves less, you need a sliding wardrobe, which opens within its own footprint. For width, a 600 mm single bay fits a standard alcove and holds about 560 mm of rail, enough for one person's current season. If the wall is short but the ceiling is high, buy height rather than width: going from a 2000 mm to a 2300 mm cabinet adds a full shelf of storage for about S$300 and no extra floor at all.

How much clearance does a hinged wardrobe door need?
About 600 mm of clear floor in front, to open the door past 90° and reach the full bay. You can live with less — a door that opens to 60° is annoying rather than useless — but below about 400 mm you genuinely cannot get to the back of a shelf. Measure from the wall to the nearest obstacle, usually the bed, and if the answer is under 600 mm take the Meridian sliding wardrobe instead.
Is there anything that fits a 600 mm alcove?
The Cabin at 600 mm wide, which is drawn to fit a nominal 600 mm alcove with about 5 mm of tolerance either side. That is tight, so measure the alcove at the floor, at waist height and at the top — plastered walls are rarely parallel, and the narrowest of those three is the number that matters. If the tightest point is under 590 mm, tell us and we will build the same cabinet 20 mm narrower as a made-to-measure order.
Can I use one in a rental where I cannot drill?
The Openwork rail system is the one to look at: freestanding on its supplied feet with no wall fixing required, and it comes apart to nothing when you move. Be aware of the trade-off — an unfixed open rail loaded unevenly can tip, so keep the weight distributed and do not use it in a room a small child uses unfixed. Every panelled wardrobe in the range genuinely does need its anti-tip bracket fitted, and that means two holes.
