The survey
Within a weekAbout an hour in the room. We measure properly, including the things that catch people out: a bulkhead over the wardrobe wall, a beam, skirting depth, a floor that falls away. Nothing is sold at the survey.

3–5 days, then as long as you needA 3D visual of the room with every bay laid out for what actually goes in it, and a fixed price against it. Revise it as many times as you like — it is far cheaper to move a bay on a drawing than after it is anodised.

What a walk-in includes

What moves the price
- Run length
- The single biggest driver. Priced per metre of bay, so three metres and six metres are close to a straight doubling.
- Ceiling height
- Above about 2700 mm the uprights need a mid-span stiffener and the doors change construction.
- Drawers and lighting
- A bay of drawers is roughly double a bay of shelves. Integrated lighting adds per metre.
- How square the room is
- Scribing to a wall that is 30 mm out over two metres is real fabrication, not a filler strip.
- Panel finish
- Fluted and mesh cost more than clear or frosted, and can be mixed bay by bay.

How long does the whole process take?
Roughly two weeks from first contact to an approved drawing, then six to eight weeks to fabricate and install. The survey itself takes about an hour. The part that varies is you: the drawing goes through as many revisions as you want, and that is the right place to spend time — it is far cheaper to move a bay on a drawing than after it is anodised.
Can you work around a beam, a sloped ceiling or an aircon trunk?
Yes — that is most of what made-to-measure is for. Beams, bulkheads, service ducts and sloped ceilings are surveyed and drawn in, and the bays are cut around them. Bring photographs to the first conversation and we can usually tell you on the spot whether anything is genuinely difficult.
What happens at the survey?
Someone comes to the room for about an hour, measures it properly — including the things that catch people out, like a bulkhead over the wardrobe wall, a beam, a skirting depth or a floor that falls away — and talks through what you own and how you get dressed. Nothing is sold at the survey. You get a drawing afterwards, and the price comes with it.
Can you match a walk-in to wardrobes I already have?
If they are ours, yes exactly — same extrusion, same finishes, same shelf pitch. If they are someone else's, we can usually get close on the frame finish but would not promise a match on a panel or a laminate we did not supply. Bring a photograph and, if you can, an offcut or a door you can lend us for a day.
